This coming July 24, 2024, the PCS will be having its General Assembly, and this year, recognizing the importance of communicating climate change and disaster preparedness, we will be engaging our members in conversations with experts from the fields of climate change assessment, science-based hazard mapping, and disaster risk reduction management and communication. The PCS will conduct a roundtable discussion, entitled, “Pumapatak na naman ang ulan! Conversations on Risk Communication and Disaster Preparedness”, covering updates on the latest report of the intergovernmental panel on climate change, the Philippine government’s response, and challenges in teaching climate change and risk, disaster and humanitarian communication in higher education. The hybrid event will take place on July 24, Wednesday, 8:00 am, over Zoom and onsite at the Philippine Social Science auditorium along Commonwealth, Quezon City.
